Holocaust-Gedenktag 27.1.2022

#berlinsights TOURS #
May 04, 2021, my first guided learning tour through downtown Berlin let us from Unter den Linden towards Pariser Platz, and along the Holocaust Memorial with its new construction works ongoing: a balcony view over the site, called “Palais” with 134 apartments, will offer various shops and tourist attractions to give “it” some flair. As a matter of fact, Berlin in both East & West is still in search for identity :-)

taz lab 24.04.2021 Berlin, Germany
tazlab_Mia–CamyllaBattani-UnsplashWhat shall we say, how to judge?
taz lab DIGITAL for the 1st time, with a rich political community of green * red * critical thought in action … what a start!
Against less famous yet nasty Corona “Querdenker” these days , we know that we don’t know, really. So tazlablive.de discusses virtually in spirit of diversity along various channels, encompassing green economy, heritage and life style, finance and age that matters. With almost 5000 virtual participants – by 19:30 only – a real taz SUCCESS!!! Below, just some excerpts of the virtual room debates is taken as a glimpse of all, see herewith:
– what was discussed? Of course media and newspapers, raising concerns of survival and sustainable products that pay to have a future beyond = digital LIFE! The weekend taz will remain in paper version – while throughout the week, we can rely on digital versions and apps. #berlinsights.de follows all streams throughout the day.
Habeck_tazlab 24.04.2021
Green co-chair Robert Habeck on Germany’s public sector bureaucracy, doing business in a common economic good: how to drive green indicators along fast gains for all? German politics are seemingly afraid of taking action towards effective growth – have a look at the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, only slowly going for efficiency. Habeck’s new work around “Macht*Mitte* Mehrheit* in philosophical debate with Hannah Arendt appears more than just thoughts: truly present in his political awakening, Habeck’s fresh call for citizen’s assemblies opens sound hints towards representivity of all. Whether “Mehrheitsfähigkeit” stands for the scope of majorities remains to be seen latest during forthcoming national elections win September 2021.
Harald Welzer tries to answer Silke Burmester’s moderation about people’s readiness to consume less and obtain more: does this value model not fully convince ‘generation solidarity’? Will the education system enable “a change is gonna come”? Why on earth calling for quantitative gains while developing creative ideas that would be much more conducive for a reform process? Where is the “Future Archive”? Such institutions appear deficit-oriented, despite their attempts to become change resilient. Reality will show.
Luisa Neubauer’s “moments-of-overload” 2020 – 21 indicate ‘Fridays-for-Future’ call for more justice and better self-management, The will to ‘stay-strong’ for 2022 allows the taz-future-II format to look at the question of climate politics at times of German elections. Links of conservative CDU and economic lobby groups get increasingly confronted with corruptive mechanisms being made transparent. So how may federal Ministries such as Altmeier’s BMWI encompass change again?
Sociologist Hartmut Rosa highlights human capacity to generate insights into the availability of making change possible, in exchange with taz travel expert Edith Kresta and economist Niko Paech. Crises constitute means of change, enable opportunities to kick-off new venues and manage the vulnerability of addressing fear as a constant factor of resilience. Pure reason is part of the recepy to act green, and to address the urge to increase (in production, sales, etc).
Joschka Fischer refers to Germany’s future, asked by taz journalist Unfried about a ‘paradigm shift’ with female leadership: to the contrary, this has always been such, says Fischer who proudly confirms the lucky team of Baerbock and Habeck as a strong potential for effective change in German politics. So finally change my materialize … thank you taz! I’ll tray to get the taz song as well …!

Myanmar Chinlone Game Early Summer
… five boring years within the sound of bugles …
Orwell’s phrase about his time as a police officer in Burma in the 1920s make me aware of the slow process of change that Myanmar, former Burma, is going through in the 21st century. See more about Orwell in Myanmar here.
Myanmar Chinlone Game Early Summer: the fineness of this Asian ball game impresses by the light material used for the small rounded rattan basket. The tender players, women and men, exercise the acrobatic activity with great moves aimed at keeping the ball off the ground. As a teamsport with no opposing team, Chinlone represents a martial arts over thousands of years, an art that seems a perfect answer to Western culture. Andy et Chinlone has made it to an olympic discipline, after all. See images here.
So is Chinloje a’mystic ball’? see
